Veneers Q & A

What are veneers?

Veneers are ultra-thin pieces of porcelain permanently sealed to the front side of your teeth. They cover aesthetic imperfections to give you a smile that appears flawless and beautiful.

People love veneers because they radically transform the look of your smile with a procedure that’s quick, easy, and minimally invasive.

What conditions can veneers treat?

You can use veneers to improve several cosmetic concerns, including:

  • Cracked, chipped, or fractured teeth
  • Stains or discoloration that hasn’t responded to professional whitening treatments
  • Misshapen teeth
  • Crooked teeth
  • Teeth that are spaced too far apart

Your teeth don’t need to be damaged or broken to benefit from veneers, either. For example, if your teeth are too large or too small, or if your smile is slightly uneven, veneers can significantly improve your appearance.

What happens when I get veneers?

When you get veneers at Advanced Smile Dentistry, you start with a consultation. You and your dentist discuss how you want your smile to look and what you hope to achieve with veneers. Then, you and your dentist select a color, shape, and size for your veneers that offers the ideal look while complementing your other facial features.

In the next step, your dentist prepares your teeth by shaving off some of your enamel. This creates room so that your veneers fit snugly on top of your teeth and lay flush with your gumline.

Your dentist then takes an impression of your prepared teeth and sends it to an offsite lab. The lab fabricates your veneers according to your impression so that they’ll fit perfectly and blend in beautifully with your smile. You wear a set of temporary veneers in the meantime.

After a couple of weeks, your permanent veneers should be ready, at which point you come back to Advanced Smile Dentistry for a second visit. Your dentist replaces your temporary veneers with your permanent ones and seals them in place, giving you a gorgeous new smile.

Don’t wait any longer to have a perfect smile. Schedule your veneers consultation with Advanced Smile Dentistry today by calling the office or booking an appointment online.
